About this course / workshop
We begin the morning session at the cultural centre in South bank and after a brief introduction make our way over the Victoria bridge to the Brisbane CBD to begin taking photos with an emphasis on exposure and different metering techniques. Our walk will take us past many places of interest with lots of opportunities to take some great photos of the busy streets and varying architecture and places of interest that Brisbane has to offer. After lunch we continue our walk whilst discussing and trying out some new techniques with the second half of the afternoon talking us through Roma street parklands to capture some nature shots before finally crossing over the kurilpa bridge for some creative night shots at Southbank parklands.
What you will learn
With particular emphasis on composition, you will also learn about advanced exposure techniques, the priority modes and exposure compensation, capturing motion using the panning technique, meter settings and how to use them, white balance, using aperture and shutter speed creatively, when to use flash / mixing ambient light with flash, controlling light using reflectors and diffusers, filters and when and how to use them effectively.
What camera do you need
To get the most from this workshop a Digital SLR or Mirrorless / micro four thirds camera is recommended, the smaller ‘bridge cameras’ may also be used but we do recommend checking in with us prior to booking.
