Start your photography journey with this short, hands-on course designed for beginners and gain the confidence to use your camera in manual mode to get the results you want – no more Auto!. Learn the essentials of aperture, shutter speed and ISO as well as how to use your cameras focus modes for sharper images. Whether you’re completely new to photography or just need a refresher, this course will help you build a strong foundation for creative and confident shooting.
The course consists of three hours theory in a comfortable study environment followed by a short 30 minute practical session and an opportunity to test the theory and time to ask questions.

What will I learn?
Understanding and controlling exposure (aperture, shutter speeds and ISO) and the advantages of shooting in manual, focusing modes, selective focusing, manual focus and how to control white balance and key camera functions.
What camera do I need?
A mirrorless, DSLR or micro four thirds cameras are ideal as you will need to use the manual functions of the camera.
'Bridge cameras’ may also be used but we do recommend checking with us before booking.
Can I borrow a camera?
Yes we have a bunch of DSLR and mirrorless cameras available that you can borrow at no cost.
