FAQ

  • I know very little about my camera, are your courses suitable for a beginner?
Absolutely, if you have little or no prior camera knowledge then you will love the beginners photography workshop as we will explain the camera features to you and guide you on how and when to use them for best results. For those who already know the basics we recommend the advanced workshop (Beyond the Basics). We also offer private One-to-One tuition for individuals and small businesses.
  • Which course is right for me?
If you are a complete novice or are unfamiliar with your camera then the Beginners photography workshop is our most popular course and includes a morning of essential camera theory followed by an afternoon of practical photo taking around the Southbank Parklands in Brisbane. Our Beyond the basics workshop is for anyone who has either attended our beginners workshop or already has a good understanding of the basics of exposure. Finally we also offer One-to-One private tuition at South bank (Brisbane), your home, place of business or a location of your choosing.
  • Is my camera suitable?
Our courses are designed for users of DSLR (digital slr) cameras and ‘Mirrorless cameras’ (sometimes called ‘micro four thirds’ or ‘hybrid’ cameras). If your camera allows the lens to be removed then your camera is also suitable. If you have a ‘bridge camera’ then you are also very welcome to join us on any of the courses but we recommend that you contact us first as there may well be some topics covered that will not apply to your camera type. If you are still unsure if your camera is suitable please do not hesitate to email or call us anytime. Loan cameras (Nikon and Canon) available upon request. Sorry but our courses or workshops are not suitable for compact digital cameras. or cameras that do not have manual functionality.
